Netlabel Autoplate is a natural home for "Tiefe Berge" as this is not the first time that it has released a virtual CD of such beautiful organically and orchestral inspired ambience that has affected me so deeply.

After having listened to "Tiefe Berge" several times, itÂ’s clear that Emil Klotzsch has an acquired love for the natural beauty and the mystery that surround the topography of this locale and that he has communicated the essence of his impressions in these eight sound episodes based on field recordings of this peculiar location.

The eight compositions in this release seem to come in three non-contiguous clusters . Tracks 1, 2, and 3 [sctl14, sctl12, sctl15] have a very cinematic quality - cascading orchestral sounds, dense and ethereal textures, suspenseful moments of rising and falling tension, and lightly distorted (and at times piercing) melancholic tones. The sounds of what seems like sporadically plucked guitar notes and strummed muted guitar strings is a common theme of Tracks 5, 6, and 7 [sctl18, sclt19, sctl13] - with light static, discordant sounds, and quirky rhythmic elements creating an overall edgy atmosphere. Tracks 4 and 8 [sctl16, sctl17] are pensive pieces with the sound of wind and falling rain evident. Crackling, rustling sounds contrast with low distant, rumbling echoes and shrill high-pitched tones creating a brooding atmosphere. Eerie whistling noises suggestive of birds songs are also present.
