compilations tend to be wrapped within a theme. this compilation deliberately does it without an artificial title, as these are raw and ′dirty′ takes of functional techdub grids and patterns. most productions have been hiding in our sheleves for quite a while, so this release is a reminiscence to the classic thinner sound, predominantely dubbed out until mid 2005. on this compilation you find a string of the best demo tracks we tried to fit in a homogenous compilation trying to cover dub segments. most producers on this international recording are unknown talents from russia, slovenia, usa, croatia and sweden but also released thinner artists rktic and das kraftfuttermischwerk are on board. so let′s have a quick glance on the lineup:
behind sounds of belovodye standing musician and sound producer from moscow - gevorg emin. he has begun his musical way in 1998 having inspired by biosphere, o yuki conjugate and other artists working in a genre of ambience. "without" is the first individual release of slovenian producer organon. besides producing dubby tracks he plays in a band and organizes parties in ljubljana and collaborated with croatian producer plaster, under the name syllogism, a project which is on hiatus right now.
buried in snow, james ulibarri (denver, co) heads for cover indoors and carves out dirty minimal dub techno with old hardware that nobody seems to want amymore. keep an eye out for ulibarri′s monoblokprodukt label in 2007 featuring rod modell of deepchord. igor o. vlasov inofficially holds the record for being most prolific within the realms of netaudio in between 2005 and 2006. but he also recently started to have his talent released on vinyl records. he contributes to this compilation with a noire, shady and slow monotonous clubber. from croatia hails liquid level, a techdub project from producer juraj stumberger. plate is a dubber with groovy bassline and metallic pads.
das kraftfuttermischwerk have had their first full length about a year ago and return with a long and dreamy minimal dubber. a new ep for thinner is already in the making but also be sure to check out their own label tendenzen freier entfaltung (tfe), they use to release small quantity vinyls that sell out quite quickly. the last tracks are a bit heavier on the plate. first, there is rktic returning after almost 3 years with a dubtech classic called "midnight glare". as usual from ronny, expect a pounding bassdrum with tight clap underneath dubby brooding effects. closing track is "delay" from swedish producer daniel blomqvist - his autoplate debut is scheduled, expect some contrast programme opposed to this massive trippy wall-of-sound dubber.
